The situation
Four men. One lockdown. Three ovals.
In 2020 the season stopped, the world locked down, and four Formula 1 drivers did what any of us would do. They got on Twitch and shouted at each other for months.
Charles Leclerc, George Russell, Lando Norris and Alex Albon streamed virtual races, played games badly, and roasted each other in front of a global audience. Fans named them the Twitch Quartet. The nickname outlived the streams by six years, which tells you how good the streams were.
Six years later they are still friends, still on the grid, and the group has quietly turned into a wedding planning committee. One of them did not join the committee. We will get to him.

Crucially, he delegated the actual asking to his dachshund. Leo turned up wearing a tag that read Dad wants to marry you!
The post was captioned with a squared Mr and a Mrs, because he is an engineer's son at heart. It cleared six million likes.
Then he did the whole thing again, properly. On 28 February 2026, four months after the proposal and about a week before the season opener in Melbourne, they married at the Mairie de Monaco in a ceremony so private that nobody knew until he posted about it on the Monday. She wore Paolo Sebastian. They arrived in a vintage 1957 Ferrari. Leo wore a tuxedo.
He called it part one. Part two, with everyone they love, is planned for next year. The man has a two-stop strategy for his own wedding.

Lily later said she did not see it coming and that her nails were not done, though she graciously added that they were not awful either. Every person who has ever been surprise-proposed to felt that in their chest.
They met because she watched Drive to Survive, started following him, and he messaged first. Netflix has a lot to answer for.

his future, then gave himself a timeline of somewhere inside the next five years. He proposed roughly eight weeks later.
Under-promise, over-deliver. Put it on the Mercedes garage wall.
The proposal was a candlelit dinner on a beach, a terraced hillside covered in pillar candles, both of them in white. The caption was a ring emoji and a white heart. No paragraph, no story, nothing. Half a million likes inside forty minutes. Restraint is a strategy.

On Formula 1 timing screens, a driver who has not completed a lap does not get a slow time. They get the words "no time set", which is somehow worse and definitely funnier.
In fairness to the man, he was busy. While the other three were quietly choosing jewellers, Lando was winning the 2025 World Championship and then throwing the party of the decade about it. Full details below. Bring a lighter.
His relationship status is genuinely unresolved rather than coy. Reports said it was over in February, then he and Magui were photographed together again in April, and neither has confirmed anything either way.

The Twitch Quartet has a house style, and the house style is the oval.
This is less of a coincidence than it looks. The oval has quietly taken over the last few years, and the reasons are boringly practical. It stretches the finger. It reads noticeably larger than a round diamond of the same weight, because more of the stone sits on the surface where you can actually see it. And it keeps most of the brilliance of a round cut instead of trading it away for shape.

Charles Leclercand Alexandra Leclerc
First to reach Formula 1, first to reach the altar. Charles debuted in 2018, a year before the other three, and he has kept that head start for eight years.
He and Alexandra met around Paris Fashion Week in March 2023 and then did something almost unheard of for a Ferrari driver. They kept it quiet. A handful of red carpets, very little posting, and an art historian building her own career while the internet decided she was a style icon.
In November he set up the candles, briefed the dog, and broke the internet. In February he married her in Monaco with almost nobody watching, and she changed her name on Instagram before most outlets had confirmed the story.

Alex Albonand Lily Muni He
Seven years together, most of it spent in different time zones chasing two different sports. Alex and Lily met online in 2019, both of them rookies, both getting beaten up by their first professional seasons.
He has said the thing that made it work was that they understood each other, having started as rookies and gone through the bad stretches together. Which is a very sane description of a relationship, and also of a Williams contract.
The proposal came in the winter break at the end of a training camp, under the stars in Big Sur. Then he wrote a caption that sounds like a man signing a lease. We love him for it.

George Russelland Carmen Montero Mundt
It started with a blind date in London in 2020. Both of them were 22. Carmen was finishing her studies, barely followed Formula 1, and reportedly did not know much about his career. He got her number from a mutual friend and cooked for her.
Six years later she has built a career in finance, co-founded a skincare brand, and been in the paddock for every step of his climb from Williams to Mercedes team leader.
He proposed on a beach during the summer break, posted two emojis, and let the photographs do the talking. Then the internet zoomed in on the ring and lost its mind, because it is yellow.

Lando Norrisand Magui Corceiro
Let us be fair to the man. In December 2025, while his three friends were sizing fingers and briefing jewellers, Lando Norris won the Formula 1 World Championship. He has a trophy the other three have chased their entire careers and not caught.
Then he threw a party that has entered fan folklore. Family and friends got going around nine at a hotel near the circuit in Abu Dhabi. He did not arrive until one in the morning, because he had a world title's worth of interviews to do first. What followed was extremely loud. Queen, then Neil Diamond, to a room very much on his side. Charles and Alexandra were there. Some of it reportedly ran until six, his parents included.
Magui Corceiro was there too, in tears in the photographs. What has happened since needs a stewards' inquiry. Reports in February said it was over, they were photographed together again in Lisbon in April, and neither has said a word in either direction at any point. Nobody outside it knows, and that is clearly how they want it.
So the tally reads one World Championship, one legendary night, and no ring. Three of his closest friends spent the following months proposing. Lando spent it holding a microphone. Both are valid life strategies.

The Twitch Quartet are not the only ones on this grid having a year.
Lewis Hamilton and Kim Kardashian had been photographed together as far back as 2014, at a GQ awards night, when they were both with other people. For a decade they were simply two famous people who kept ending up in the same rooms.
That changed in early 2026. A quiet night at a country house hotel in the Cotswolds in late January. A private flight to Paris. Then the two of them sitting side by side at the Super Bowl in February, which is not where you go if you want to be discreet. On 1 June, Kim posted the photographs herself and ended the guessing.
Sources speaking to Entertainment Tonight have since described it as serious, saying Hamilton sees a future in it. As of this month they are still together. There is no engagement and no ring, so he does not appear in the standings above. But if you are asking who joins that board next, the seven-time World Champion sitting second in the actual championship is a genuinely reasonable answer.

Bold, given nobody is entirely sure what his relationship status is this week. But he has three weddings to attend and nobody survives that unchanged.
The dark horse, and not a silly one. Six months from first sighting to a public Instagram launch, and sources are already using the word future. He would jump the whole queue.
The sensible money. He has already done the quiet civil ceremony and publicly promised a second one with everyone they love. That is a very large room to book.
Genuinely plausible. There are only two windows in a Formula 1 year and both men just proposed. Somewhere a wedding planner is looking at the 2027 calendar and sweating.
